Happy Spring! Happy Easter!

The celebration of the return of  spring and Easter brings the promise that everything can begin again, of letting go of the old and embracing something new, of renewal of the self and of the earth, and of faith.  Just think of everything associated with spring and Easter: promise, resurrection, birth, new love, romance, nesting birds, butterflies, daffodils, tulips, peach blossoms and so many other cheerful flowers.  

 

One of my favorite spring quotes is by Harriet Ann Jacobs (an African American writer who escaped from slavery and later became an abolitionist speaker and reformer) from her book of great hope and strength published in 1861, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl:  

 

 

"The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also."

 

 

Spring has definitely come her in the Borderlands.  The trees are blooming up a storm and the birds greet me each morning with a symphony of song.  To celebrate the season of rebirth and faith, I want to share a whole host of artisan handmade items created with colors associated with spring and Easter.  I hope you enjoy these beauties.
