Summer Fun - Artisan Handmade

Even though summer has not officially arrived - the Summer Solstice will show up on Thursday, June 21 at 4:07 a.m. Mountain Time here in the Borderlands - thermometers tell another story.  June is the month for triple digits here with a high UV index. Then the temperatures cool down when the monsoon season arrives with its amazing lightning displays and much needed rain.  Despite the June heat, we go about our daily lives enjoying the out of doors, albeit in the mornings and evenings mostly: gardening, cooking on the grill, hiking, star gazing, birding, etc. With an altitude of 3740’, we still have gloriously cool mornings and evenings to enjoy being outside.

 

Since the official start of summer will be here before we know it, I asked handmade artist friends to submit two of their “summery” creations.  There is a wide range of items: from cooling ocean inspired beauties to hot, hot, hot designs. And any summer collection would be incomplete without a few summer critters and plants!  If something catches your eye, please either click the link below the photo or the photo itself to be taken to the item for further information. Appreciate you taking the time to show some great handmade summertime items including mine. Will be sharing soon. Summer is my favorite season. In Ohio, there can be some very hot days with high humidity, but a lot of the time there are very cool days and plenty of rain. I wish we could send all our rain out west.

All of these great handmade items make summer that much more fun. We are feeling the beginnings of summer here in Florida, too, but not at triple digits. Still, it's warm and our frogs are out, as are the other critters. We've already had our first tropical depression. Oh, yay. Have shared all of these handmade gifts far and wide. Thank you for including my beach van pillow and my sunflower pushpins! Much cool shade to the defender of the cactus and quenching fluids for you. :) Let summer begin!!
