What a glorious, one of a kind, handmade necklace ANCIENT WISDOM is, created with a polymer clay tree pendant, White Creek turquoise and sterling silver! The handmade polymer clay tree pendant is a Gabriel Studio original and is the highlight of the necklace. Michele transferred one of her original tree drawings to polymer clay, then textured and handpainted the pendant in pale blue, amber and black. The sky behind the tree is soft teal and gold. Absolutely breathtaking! The pendant reminds me of an artifact you might find at an archaeological dig - it has such an ancient, weathered feel to it. The pendant is set off wonderfully by soft blue White Creek turquoise nuggets. The White Creek Mine has been closed for quite some time so this turquoise is hard to find. Not only is it beautiful, it is fairly rare. I was lucky to pick up two strands of this light blue turquoise several years ago at a gem and mineral show in Texas. Unfortunately, this is my last strand. I wanted to keep the necklace design clean and simple so used six sterling silver fancy beads, three on each side to complement the nuggets. Sterling silver 2mm beads were interspersed after every five nuggets at the back of the necklace. To finish the ANCIENT WISDOM necklace beautifully, a hand-textured sterling silver hook clasp set was used.
