These handmade earring beauties, the perfect complement to the WHEN BEAUTY CALLS necklace, are a one of a kind design. Created with banded eye agate, pyrite and sterling silver, people will certainly sit up and take notice when you wear them! What a unique gemstone banded eye agate is. This particular agate is noted for its natural concentric ring patterns that remind people of an "eye". Banded eye agate has been used through the ages to ward off the evil eye and many other negative things. Stones were worn around the neck or carried in a pocket as a talisman. The eyes in this pair of earrings are the yin and yang of each other - one stone has 2 dark eyes; the other stone has two light eyes. Gorgeous bands of white, cream, beige, tan and dark brown make up the banded eye agate. What fun stones - what fun earrings! To highlight the banded eye agate stones, faceted pyrite was used. The pyrite is a mellow brownish-gold color, and because of the faceting, sparkles wonderfully.
