The concept of a Tree of Life or a World Tree is a powerful symbol in many religions and culture throughout the history of mankind. As humans observed trees throughout the four seasons, trees became powerful symbols of the cycle of life (growth, decay, death and resurrection). They are believed to connect earth with heaven and the underworld and all forms of creation. The ceramic coin shaped charms used in the TREE OF LIFE artisan earrings were individually handmade in Peru and were bought Fair Trade. The intricate beauties are two-sided and feature a raised Tree of Life. A multicolored glaze in shades of aqua with a bit of peach Raku decorate the ceramic coins. Because the tree charms were individually handmade, you will notice in the photos that there are sight differences from bead to bead and side to side - something that makes them truly unique jewelry.

To complement the Tree of Life charms, genuine aquamarine gemstone rounds were stacked above, separated by a small sterling silver bead. The aquamarine rounds are rich in color, somewhat translucent, have a high gloss finish and, since they are a natural gemstone, one bead is slightly darker than the other. The tree of life beads and the aquamarine were placed on sterling silver headpins with sterling beads at the top and bottom. Everything was carefully wire wrapped and connected to sterling earwires for a perfect finish. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the TREE OF LIFE earrings are perfect to wear for dress up or dress down - a lovely addition to any woman’s jewelry collection.
