With a huge dose of spooky gothic appeal, the one of a kind CALAVERAS skull earrings totally rock for everyday wear, Halloween and Day of the Dead festivities. Jewelry for the woman who loves unique designs, the earrings feature artisan pewter skull dangles, rustic lampwork glass beads and sparkling Swarovski crystals. The teardrop shaped skull charms were individually artisan designed and hand cast from lead free pewter. The skulls look like they are rising up from the hammered background of the charms. Since the skulls themselves are raised against the background, there is a great deal of 3-D texture. To bring out the intricate details and give an aged look, the charms were slightly oxidized, reminiscent of old heirloom fine silver that has been passed down through generations. Because of their light oxidation, the skull charms catch and reflect the light as the earrings are worn. The back of the charms have a slight texture. The skull teardrops were carefully wire wrapped with sterling silver wire to connect to the upper part of the earrings.

Fabulous skull charms need fabulous lampwork glass beads and the ones used are no exception! For an even greater goth appeal, rustic blue lampwork glass nuggets were added. Each glass bead was individually handmade from turquoise blue glass spotted with darker blue. The lampwork beads were acid etched for a weathered volcanic rock effect with bits of the shiny surface left here and there. Each bead is unique, and, since they are a nugget shape, are not perfectly round. Above each lampwork bead, separated by a sterling silver daisy spacer are found faceted Swarovski crystals bicones. They are jet black in color with a color shifting aurora borealis (AB) finish on ½ of the beads. The sparkle is absolutely amazing! As you can see in the photos, the colors of the coating are amazing: silver to purple to aqua to gold and many others depending on the angle of the light. Sterling silver French hook earwires perfectly finish the skull earrings.
