Genuine blue turquoise and sterling silver Bali beads made in a snaked wire design are the main elements in TURQUOISE TRAIL handmade, one of a kind earrings. Two graduated turquoise rondelles are a beautiful blue color with black matrixing. I love the look of the two different sizes of turquoise rondelles in these earrings :) Sterling silver daisy spacers separate the rondelles from each other and from the sterling silver handmade Bali tube bead. The snaked wire design was worked on the tube beads is one of my favorite designs - such amazing workmanship! And since they are handmade, the tubes aren't exactly the same. Small, 2mm sterling silver beads begin and end the earrings. The main body of the TURQUOISE TRAIL earrings is wire-wrapped onto sterling silver earwires.

Bali beads are part of an ancient tradition. Bronze metal work has been found and dated from as early as the fifth century BC. Bali beads are typically granulated, which means that they are often decorated with small pieces of wire, tiny silver balls and other shapes. To emphasize this design the bead is usually oxidized. The raised part is then polished which shines against the darker, oxidized background.
