TROPICAL SPLENDOR - Abalone Shell Windows Swarovski Sterling Earrings, Handmade
About:
Abalone shell windows, Swarovski crystals and sterling silver all came together to create this beautiful, handmade one of a kind pair of earrings called TROPICAL SPLENDOR. And such rich, splendid colors they are! The abalone, true to its colorful reputation, absolutely radiates greens, purple and pinks on one side and a creamy, glistening off-white shot through with pink on the other, true to form for abalone that has not been laminated. Photos of both sides are included above. The two sides give a very kinetic look to the earrings as they are worn - a lovely effect! The abalone has been hand cut into unusual and unique "windows", definitely not a shape you often see. "Medium vitrail" Swarovski crystals 6mm bicones were added to the open middle to add additional sparkle and flash. As you can see from the photos, the "medium vitrail" Swarovski color, one of my favorites, perfectly mimics the colors of the abalone. Sterling silver 2mm beads were placed on the top and bottom of the crystals to further frame them. The TROPICAL SPLENDOR earrings were handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs.
