SHADOWPLAY - Brown Shell, Smoky Quartz, Swarovski Handmade Necklace

Glorious brown laminated shell, smoky quartz, "light smoky topaz" Swarovski crystals and sterling silver were used to create SHADOWPLAY, a handmade, one of a kind necklace. Wish I could tell you what the shell is - am thinking it's brown mother of pearl, but I can't say that with 100% certainty. Whatever the shell is, it's gorgeous with its glossy shine and a pearlescent quality! As you move the shell back and forth in the light, pale pinks and greens are seen (see photos). How gorgeous they are, the reason the piece is named SHADOWPLAY!!! The shells have been laminated to give them strength so they are not easily broken. To highlight the browns of the shells, smoky quartz rondelles and "light smoky topaz" Swarovski crystals have been used - the smoky quartz to bring out the darker browns; the crystals to bring out the lighter tones. The Swarovski crystals also add a bit of flash to the necklace :) Lightly oxidized 2mm sterling silver beads have been used to separate each element. Ten smoky quartz rondelles, five on each side, were used to finish the body of the necklace. A twisted sterling silver toggle clasp finishes SHADOWPLAY beautifully.
