The PAW PRINTS ON THE HEART handmade earrings are meaningful for any woman who loves dogs, especially if the dogs happen to be rescues. The sweet earrings feature artisan hand cast heart charms with a raised paw print design. Made with gold bronze, the charms were created by Cathy Dailey using the ancient and painstaking “lost wax method” - Cathy carved the mold from wax and her husband hand finished the mold. The actual casting to form the bronze charms was done by an artisan family who specializes in the work. The charms were carefully wire wrapped to the upper body of the earrings with copper wire.

To add warm color to the overall earring design, two colors of Czech glass rondelles were used. The first, sitting just above each heart and paw print charms, is a luscious aqua blue opal bead The opal like beads are translucent, which absolutely glow when backlit, and are faceted for subtle sparkle. They have an earthy Picasso finish around the bead holes for a vintage look and are capped at the top and bottom with small copper discs. Adding a jolt of color above the aqua blue opal glass beads are rich ruby red Czech rondelles with an eggshell finish (not shiny but not matte). They are capped by a copper disc and a 2 mm copper bead. All of the elements used to created the dog rescue earrings were wire wrapped on copper wire and attached to sterling silver earwires with a copper bicone accent. Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs designed and handmade the earrings for the woman who loves wearing one of a kind jewelry and probably has many, many “paw prints on the heart.”
