Looking as if they were plucked straight off a canvas of the Impressionist painter Claude Monet, the appropriately named MONET’S WATER LILIES earrings are stunning in their natural beauty. The one of a kind earrings feature artisan handmade lampwork glass beads, beautiful pewter bead caps, pewter saucer shaped beads and sterling silver. The lampwork beads were individually created by Jody of InspireGlassStudio from reduction glass which, when heated, produces a speckled raku like effect. As you can see in the photos, the background of the beads contain many shades of an aqua blue green. Scattered across the aqua glass are speckles and splotches of orange (almost like koi swimming in a pond), pink, light green, gray and others, many in the shape of surrealistic lily pads. Each bead is different in the pattern that was produced. Then everything was encased in a layer of clear glass to amplify the colors and to give the earrings an amazing glow when worn. The lampwork beads are not perfectly round but rather an organic nugget shape.
Pewter beads caps were snugged to the top and bottom of each lampwork bead. The high quality lead free bead caps look like flower petals themselves, with a flower motif on each petal. Stacked on top of the earrings is a pewter saucer bead, also lead free, with an ancient “cup and saucer” design. The pewter has a rich glow, complementing the loveliness of the lampwork beads even more. Sterling silver French hook earwires finish the earrings.
