MERMAID'S MELODY - Purple Spiny Oyster Shell Handmade Necklace Sterling

This stunning necklace, appropriately named MERMAID'S MELODY, was created from truly unique purple spiny oyster shell nuggets, handmade Bali sterling silver beads, 2 mm sterling beads, a sterling silver toggle clasp and sterling findings. The purple spiny oyster shell nuggets are unusual in that approximately 1/2 of each nugget is purple and the other half is white. The purple part has great natural pitted texture and varies from many shades of purple, from dark to lavender. The other part is bright white and is mostly smooth and shiny, although a few show some pitting. For a close up of the spiny oyster shell nuggets, please see photo #3 above. Because the beads are nuggets, each one has its own personality in size, shape and coloration. A grouping of three oyster shell nuggets make up the front of the MERMAID'S MELODY necklace, then two grouping of five and a group of seven at the back of the necklace. Each grouping is separated by a small, handmade sterling silver Bali beads showing beautiful raised granulation around the middle of each bead. A sterling silver 2 mm bead separates each nugget and the Bali beads. The necklace is finished with sterling silver wire protectors connected to a sterling silver toggle clasp set.
