The white freshwater pearls used to create the GLOWING ORBS necklace were individually hand knotted on white silk cord and finished off with an oxidized hook clasp set. A necklace that has been knotted is the traditional way to wear pearls, a tradition that started centuries ago when pearls were rarer and more valuable than gold. Today, pearls are definitely not more valuable than gold, but this GLOWING ORBS necklace continues in the age old tradition of knotting. GLOWING ORBS was carefully handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs.
