Probably one of the most venerated religious figures, St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and the environment. To honor the humble saint, the meaningful, one of a kind GIVE YOU PEACE necklace features an artisan cast, two-sided solid bronze St. Francis pendant, pink opal rounds and copper. For Old World charm, the St. Francis pendant was patterned after an antique Italian pendant from the 1800’s.. Raised against the background is the saint himself with a flock of doves, one resting peacefully on his outstretched hand. A castle or monastery can be seen in the upper right background. The back of the pendant (please see photo #5) has the Blessing of St. Francis in Italian. A translation of the Blessing is provided below. The pendant is polished to a lovely warm bronze glow. A heavy duty copper jump ring securely connects the pendant to the main body of the necklace. This necklace is perfect for the woman who loves to wear smaller necklaces.

To perfectly highlight the bronze St. Francis pendant, beautiful pink opal rounds and glowing copper were used. Pink opal, a unique gemstone you don't see often, is a type of common opal that is generally opaque and does not show the “fire” like that of precious opals. The color can range from a bright baby girl pink to a pale pink, cream, white or even pale lavender, some with bits of natural dark inclusions. The gemstones used in the necklace have all those shades, but the necklace was designed with the darker pinks at the front shading to paler stones at the back. To represent the Holy Trinity, the pink opals were placed in groups of three. A small copper disc spacer with a 2 mm copper bead on each side separates the groupings at the front. A single copper bead separates the opal groups at the back. A sleek copper hook clasp set finishes the lovely necklace.
