The ARTE ANTIGUO necklace is definitely a unique, one of a kind piece of jewelry! The necklace features a hand carved shell pendant with a stylized water bird done in an ancient petroglyph design. Luhanas shell cubes, luhanas shell large heishe and copper complement the pendant and makes the necklace perfect to celebrate Spring and Summer! The ARTE ANTIGUO necklace was carefully handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs.
*** Similar bird designs appear in caves in the Salt River Valley, South Mountain Park, Phoenix, Arizona. Scientists say the land at that time received much more rain than it does now, allowing large pools of captured water to form that attracted water birds. The ancient peoples then drew/carved them onto cave walls.
