Looking as if the rounds of amber copal was plucked from the sun, the chunky AMBER SUNSHINE artisan necklace will definitely make a statement each time it is worn. Glowing reconstituted copal in a rich golden amber color attracts the eye as it catches the light. Copal is a solidified fossil plant resin which would, in another million years or so, have turned into amber. This particular copal was melted down and then formed (reconstituted) into large rondelle shaped beads. Some of the beads are fairly clear; some have whitish inclusions of lighter colored copal, something that is perfectly natural. Because the copal has the same light weight as amber, this necklace gives a chunky look without the chunky weight.

Amber copal and turquoise were made for each other. Between each piece of copal is a faceted turquoise rondelle in a rich sky blue color, some with fine lines of natural dark matrix running through it. The facets of the genuine turquoise provides the necklace with subtle sparkle. Shimmering sterling silver beads separate the turquoise from the copal. The back of the necklace is finished with hand cut agate rondelles that range from almost clear in color to a medium orange. A hammered sterling silver hook clasp finishes the gemstone necklace perfectly.
