The eye-catching RUNNING FREE handmade necklace is a perfect gift for the woman who loves horses, the idea of running free and Southwest petroglyph symbols. The one of a kind artisan necklace features a high quality, lead free pewter pendant, black onyx tubes, white jasper tubes, vintage turquoise heishe and sterling silver. The two-sided hammered pewter pendant, artisan designed and hand cast in the U.S., has a wonderfully rustic appeal to it. One side is etched with a pair of running horses petroglyphs - running horse glyphs are found at many ancient sites worldwide. To add even more interest, a Zia inspired spiral sun is found on the opposite side (see photo #1). The pewter pendant was oxidized and then polished to a reflective finish (you can see the red of my shirt reflected in some photos) to bring out all the beautiful detailing. A heavy gauge sterling silver jump ring connects the horse pendant to the main body of the necklace securely.

Black onyx tubes, white jasper tubes and vintage turquoise heishe complement the Southwest petroglyph designs perfectly. The hand cut gemstone tubes are polished to a high gloss so reflect the light beautifully when the necklace is worn. The tubes were set in a color-blocked design for added eye appeal: two black onyx tubes, three white jasper tubes, three black onyx tubes, three white jasper tubes and finishing with two black onyx tubes. Between each gemstone tube, separated by a small sterling silver bead on each side, is a single piece of genuine vintage turquoise heishe. The turquoise heishe is “rough cut” so each piece is just a bit different in size and finish. The colors of the turquoise run from pale blue through a darker green, some with matrix, some without. A sleek sterling silver toggle clasp finishes the necklace beautifully.
