Filled with fascinating religious symbolism, the one of a kind DEVOTION necklace is perfect for the woman who loves to wear meaningful Chrsitian cross jewelry. The handmade necklace features a flower and ivy cross pendant, faceted black onyx and sterling silver. The exquisite cross, with a definite Celtic influence, was artisan designed and hand poured from lead free Britannia pewter, a beautiful pewter that can be mistaken for heirloom sterling silver due to its mirror-like sheen. In the center of the cross is a passion flower with great symbolism. The circle of hairlike filaments above the petals represents the crown of thorns Jesus wore. The five petals and five petal-like sepals represent the ten apostles who remained devoted to him. Curving ivy fills the rest of the cross design as a symbol of faithfulness, love and eternal life. The cross was lightly patinated and then polished to a high gloss. The back of the pendant is smooth, engraved with the maker's mark and the year the cross was designed.
Complementing the cross pendant to perfection are sparkling AAA (the highest quality) black onyx round gemstones and sterling silver. The black onyx is micro-faceted for amazing glitter every time the angle of the light changes. Representing the Holy Trinity, the AAA onyx is arranged in groups of three with a single black onyx bead and sterling silver beads separating each group. A textured sterling silver hook clasp set finishes the necklace beautifully. The DEVOTION cross pendant necklace was carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio. The necklace will come with two informational drop tags: one with the piece's name; the other lists the materials used in the necklace and the language of the stones and metals.
