The ROSETTE handmade necklace is a gorgeous jewelry gift for the flower lover! The one of a kind necklace features a hand carved vintage mother of pearl rose, peach calcite, mussel shell heishe, fine silver petal beads and sterling silver. The vintage rose pendant (from the 1940s) was hand carved from off-white mother of pearl, an iridescent nacre found on the inside of mollusks. The pendant has a luminous, eye-catching glow of mainly pinks and greens as the angle of the light changes (which, unfortunately, the photos hardly show). The slightly concave back side of the pendant also has a glow. A sterling silver bail attaches the rose pendant to the main body of the necklace.

Perfectly complementing the vintage mother of pearl pendant are peach calcite, mussel shell heishe and fine silver petal beads. The beautiful peach calcite gemstones, separated by small sterling silver beads, are six-sided which adds sparkle to the design. The back part of the necklace consists of natural mussel shell heishe, thin slices of shell that shade from a pale peach color to a darker peachy beige color. Each piece is different in size and shape, adding wonderful texture. Separating the calcite from the shell, are artisan made Thai Hill Tribes fine silver flower petal beads. A textured sterling silver hook clasp set finishes the necklace. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the ROSETTE necklace was created for the woman who loves flowers and loves wearing one of a kind artisan jewelry.

Roses symbolize love, gratitude and joy. Mother-of-pearl is believed to stimulate intuition, sensitivity and imagination. Peach Calcite symbolizes positivity, optimism, and inner peace. Mussel Shells are said to bring strength and adaptability. Silver is a metal of love and healing; it is a mirror to the soul, helping us to see ourselves as others see us.

The ROSETTE artisan necklace was carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio. The necklace will come with two informational drop tags: one with the piece's name; the other lists the materials used in the necklace and the language of the stones and metals. It will be carefully packed in an organza jewelry bag, perfect for gift giving to a loved one . . . or to yourself!
