Meaningful handmade jewelry, the HEALER’S HAND pendant necklace is a one of a kind, color shifting beauty. The unique necklace features an artisan made dichroic glass healer’s hand pendant, black onyx gemstone and sterling silver. The healer’s hand with a spiral in the palm is believed to be a powerful symbol of protection and healing. Sometimes called the “shaman’s hand,” Native Americans in the Southwest decorated canyon walls, boulders and the insides of caves with the symbol. It is still in use today in their art, sacred ceremonies and daily life. The fused glass pendant was created from black glass with a color-shifting layer of iris blue (when looking straight ahead) to a rich cobalt blue (when angle is steep) dichroic glass. Some of the darker color on the edges of the pendant can be seen in some of the photos. A spiral was incised into the palm of the hand, showing the black base glass. The back side of the pendant has a glowing purplish cast to it. A sterling silver bail securely fastens the healer’s hand pendant to the body of the necklace.
Perfectly complementing the healer’s hand pendant are two sizes of shiny black onyx beads. At the front are four groups of three black onyx rounds, separated by sterling silver Bali bead spacers with raised dots. The back of the necklace has the smaller black onyx beads, the groups also separated by the Bali spacers. A sterling silver hook clasp set finishes the unique necklace. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the HEALER’S HAND necklace was created for the woman who loves artisan handmade jewelry with a spiritual, protective story.

Black Onyx is believed to be a powerful protective stone and is used as a defense against negative thinking.
