If you or someone you know is bewitched by the beauty and the power of horses, the MUSTANGS earrings are a perfect handmade jewelry gift! The lightweight earrings feature artisan two-sided running horses / sun pewter charms, speckled Baltic amber, red garnet and sterling silver. The Southwest petroglyph-inspired charms were artisan designed and hand cast from high quality, lead free pewter here in the United States. A running horse with a petroglyph vibe is inscribed on one side of each charm and a sun design is on the other. The detailing of the “mirror image” horses and suns is intricate; they’re similar but not exactly the same. The charms have a lovely rustic hammered look and shine like old, heirloom sterling silver, a perfect complement to the darker oxidized areas that bring out the detail.

Adding wonderful glow to the design are speckled Baltic amber rondelles and red garnet rounds. The genuine amber is a translucent golden honey color with speckles running through it, each rondelle different from the other. Above each piece of amber, separated by a sterling silver daisy spacer, is a translucent red garnet round. A faceted Czech glass silver bead adds subtle sparkle. Sterling silver French hook earwires with faceted silver bead accents finish the rustic beauties. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the MUSTANGS will be a treasured gift for the woman who adores horses and loves to wear unique Southwest petroglyph-inspired jewelry.

Horses symbolize strength, vitality and the ability to overcome obstacles. The sun is a symbol of power, illumination and a source of life on earth. Pewter is believed to be very grounding. Even though man made, glass is said to carry the energies of transformation, rebirth and communication. Amber is used as a good luck and protective stone. Red Garnet is worn to bring peaceful energy and symbolizes courage and truth. Silver is a metal of love and healing.

The MUSTANGS artisan earrings were carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio. They will be carefully packed in an organza jewelry bag with tissue, perfect for gift giving to a loved one . . . or to yourself!
