It’s hard to believe that we’re already half-way finished with the twelve week Countdown to Christmas 2022! Yikes! That means Christmas is bearing down on us and will soon be here - two months away! According to the ever ticking Christmas clock, there are only 60 days until the jolly ho-ho-ho-ing Santa and his merry band of clattering reindeer arrive once again. Unique Handmade Jewelry by Shadow Dog Designs

It has been almost two months since I last shared the newest handmade jewelry pieces found in my SHADOW DOG DESIGNS shop. Definitely not sure where the time goes! Guess I was so busy creating, photographing and listing new jewelry pieces - which is a good thing! Ten of the newest pieces are being shared: seven pairs of handmade earrings, two necklaces and one bracelet. As always, many have a wonderful boho look but some have a more classic design. Menagerie: a collection of animals, frequently exotic, kept for display. The term was first used in 17th-century France, in reference to the management of household or domestic stock.
Anyone who knows me knows I love animals in all shapes and sizes - always have, always will. So I wanted to share a collection of animal jewelry with you that can be found in my Shadow Dog Designs handmade jewelry shop. Even though these animals found on these earrings and necklaces are not alive, they can definitely be termed a menagerie since there is a wide variety, from exotic animals, such as tigers and giraffes, to domestic animals, like dogs and cats. It’s hard to believe that 2018 is drawing to a close and that a new year will dawn in just a matter of days. 2018 was a very creative year for me as I found items from new artists (to me) to incorporate into my work - and continued working with pieces from old artist friends. School Daze - Wonderful Handmade Wednesday on Indiemade

When I drive the back way to Spa for Paws, where Seamus goes to romp and play with his doggie friends three days a week, we pass by an elementary school. Today I noticed on the school sign that the first day of school is August 13, with teachers back at school August 3!!! What??? No wonder I have been bombarded with “back to school” brochures and coupons in the mail. I imagine that there a huge amount of ads on regular TV, but since I only watch PBS, NetFlix or the like, I don’t see them. Thank heavens for that! But it sure seems awfully early for school to begin. Where has the summer gone???
The school sign prompted the theme for today’s Wonderful Handmade Wednesday on Indiemade, titled School Daze. The artisan handmade items chosen will be welcome “just because” first day of school gifts, to help counteract the daze of school starting up again. The meaningful, unique items chosen span a wide range of ages, from kindergarten/first grade through high school. I hope one of the beauties goes to school that first day!
