Peaceful Womans Face Necklace, Terracotta Turquoise Handmade Jewelry

Filled with a calming peacefulness and rustic beauty, the SITHEIL handmade necklace is a perfect gift for the woman who loves to wear artisan jewelry that seem to harken back to ancient times. The one of a kind necklace features a terracotta ceramic face pendant, turquoise magnesite and copper. The dimensional pendant was artisan made from terracotta clay with a tranquil woman's face (perhaps a moon maiden?) with closed eyes. The right side of her face has cup and ring symbols, designs that have been carved into stone since prehistoric times. The front of the pendant has a soft turquoise glaze and which was distressed to expose some of the terracotta base. The back of the pendant is unglazed to act as an essential oil diffuser - just add a few drops of a favorite essential oil and the porous ceramic will release the aroma for several days.
Since the color of turquoise is perfect with terracotta, beautiful turquoise magnesite ovals complement the peaceful face pendant. Naturally an off white gemstone with brown veining, magnesute is it is often dyed, turquoise being a very popular color. The sky blue turquoise magnesite used here is permanently dyed and shows natural veining in various shades of brown. To add superb drape and a luscious copper glow, each piece of magnetite is separated by copper tube beads and small copper beads. To securely fasten the necklace, a patinated copper toggle clasp set was used. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the SITHEIL face pendant necklace was created for the woman who adores wearing one of a kind artisan jewelry with a tranquil-looking, ancient-inspired pendant. “Sitheil” is Scots Gaelic for “peaceful.”

The SITHEIL artisan necklace was carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio. The necklace will come with two informational drop tags: one with the piece's name; the other lists the materials used in the necklace and the language of the stones and metals.
