Talhakimt Tribal Earrings, Purple Lampwork Handmade Boho Jewelry Gift

Item Description

The one of a kind TALHAKIMT handmade earrings are definitely filled with a tribal boho vibe, perfect for the woman who loves symbolic jewelry.  The unique earrings feature Czech glass beads in an ancient tribal talhakimt (also called tanfouk) motif, artisan speckled purple lampwork glass beads, Swarovski crystals, copper and sterling silver.  The talhakimt is a Tuareg talisman that has been worn by people in Senegal, Mali, Mauritania and other countries as hair ornaments and pedants or used as money since at least the 1700’s.  The two-sided talhakimt amulets are ivory colored pressed Czech glass with a dark brown, tan and pinkish Picasso finish.  Since these Czech glass beads were made in small batches, they are very similar in their finish but are also a bit different as you can see in the photos.  Since the talhakimt beads are two-sided, the earrings look fabulous from any angle.

Complementing the talhakimt symbols beautifully, artisan handmade lampwork beads and Swarovski crystals were found above.  The gorgeous lampwork glass beads, individually handmade, started out as a base of clear glass with purple and pink frit added for a speckled design.  Since the lampwork beads are translucent, they glow amazingly when the earrings are worn.  Stacked on the lampwork beads, separated by two sizes of copper daisy spacers, are faceted Swarovski crystal bicones, adding great sparkle to the design.  The rich color is a mixture of dark amethyst purple to pale lavender, called “amethyst blend.”  Sterling silver French hook ear wires with copper bead accents.  Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the TALHAKIMT earrings were created for the woman who loves one of a kind artisan jewelry with a tribal boho flair!

The circle in the talhakimt amulet symbolizes female energy and the triangle represents male energy; they are considered a type of love charm and a protection symbol.  Even though man made, glass and crystals carry the energies of transformation, rebirth and communication. Copper is said to allow the wearer to recognize barriers in the path of personal development.  Silver is a metal of love and healing; it is a mirror to the soul, helping us to see ourselves as others see us.

The TALHAKIMT tribal-inspired earrings were carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio. They will be carefully packed in an organza jewelry bag with tissue, perfect for gift giving to a loved one . . . or to yourself!
