The one of a kind TALHAKIMT earrings are definitely filled with a tribal boho vibe, perfect for the woman who loves handmade, symbolic jewelry. The earrings feature Czech glass beads in an ancient tribal talhakimt (also called tanfouk) motif, artisan purple lampwork glass beads, Swarovski crystals, copper and sterling silver. The talhakimt is a Tuareg talisman that has been worn by people in Senegal, Mali, Mauritania and other countries as jewelry or used as money since at least the 1700’s. Created from ivory colored Czech glass, the two-sided talhakimt amulets have a dark brown, tan and pinkish Picasso finish to add an aged look. The beads are very similar with their finish but are also a bit different, adding a wonderful boho vibe. Since the talhakimt beads are two-sided, the earrings look fabulous from any angle.
Complementing the talhakimt symbols beautifully, artisan lampwork beads and Swarovski crystals were found above. The gorgeous lampwork glass beads, individually handmade, started out as a base of clear glass with purple and pink frit added for a speckled design. Wonderfully translucent. the lampwork beads glow amazingly when the earrings are worn. Adding great sparkle are faceted "amethyst blend" Swarovski crystal bicones, a rich mixture of dark amethyst purple shading to pale lavender. Sterling silver French hook ear wires with copper bead accents. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the TALHAKIMT earrings were created for the woman who loves one of a kind artisan jewelry with a tribal boho flair!
