What an exquisite handmade necklace for the woman who loves the ocean! Perfect jewelry for the beach babe who likes a smaller design, the unique ATIGI SAMI necklace features Mykonos seashell dangles, vintage Japanese rice pearls and copper. The two-sided seashell charms (based on scallop shells) were artisan made on the Greek Island of Mykonos. A heavy coating of copper covers a lead free base metal which was then given a beautiful turquoise green patina. As you can see, the detailing is amazing! Five seashells dangle at the front of the necklace separated by three vintage Japanese rice pearls and copper beads.
The delicate white rice pearls are at least 40 years old and come from Japan. Each pearl has a timeless beauty with a lustrous nacre that reflects light beautifully. Just a bit larger than a grain of rice, each is slightly different in size, shape and length, adding to the allure of the necklace. Groups of three pearls are separated by a single pearl and copper beads. A textured pure copper toggle clasp set securely fastens the necklace. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the ATIGI SAMI necklace was created for the woman who adores beach-inspired jewelry that is a one of a kind design! “Atigi sami” is Samoan for “seashells.”
