What a beautiful, one of a kind piece of jewelry for the woman who loves unique gemstone pendants! The handmade PAPAVERI necklace features an incredible red poppy jasper pendant, glowing maroon red freshwater pearls and copper. Poppy jasper is a much rarer form of the more common brecciated jasper. It is characterized by roundish patterns of red “poppies” amid darker colors. White quartz is also often found, adding wonderful eye appeal. The exquisite pendant is an upside-down rounded triangle shape. As you can see in the photos, dark red poppies are scattered over most of the pendant, both on the front and the back. A band of translucent white quartz runs along most of the top of the pendant with a finger of quartz dropping below on the left hand side. The finish of the pendant is very high shine, almost mirror-like. Two heavy duty copper jump rings securely attach the gemstone pendant to the main body of the necklace.
To perfectly highlight the red poppies of the pendant, radiant maroon red freshwater pearls and copper beads are used. The pearls are an oblong shape that are drilled through the middle. The color of the glowing pearls run from a dark maroon hue to a lighter hue with bits of golden orange. Since the pearls are freshwater, they are very similar in size and shape but each has its own personality, adding wonderful texture to the design. A copper bead separates each grouping of three, five or seven pearls, adding even more glow to the necklace. A pure copper toggle clasp finishes the necklace. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the unique PAPAVERI red poppy jasper and pearls necklace was created for the woman who loves wearing one of a kind, artisan gemstone jewelry. “Papaveri” is Italian for “poppies.”
