The star of the PERCHANCE TO DREAM necklace show is the amazing paintbrush jasper pendant. Just look at the natural detail in the jasper, as if Mother Nature took a paintbrush and carefully painted what was on her mind. In fact, Native Americans believed that paintbrush jasper was used by the Earth Mother to speak to her children - her story and lessons are held within the stone, each stone with its own unique story. What a wonderful belief! The "background" color of the pendant is a warm beige that holds more than a hint of peach. Chocolate brown lines run straight across the top of the pendant or sway their way down the side. Two gray forms (clouds? snowy mountains?), one large and one small, add extra interest to the pendant. Both sides are beautiful , different but somewhat the same. The pendant is not flat; it has a wavy cut to it. Two hand hammered sterling silver spirals complement the natural design and to form a unique bail for the pendant. Nature’s paintbrush jasper is also sometimes called "picture jasper" or "paintbrush jasper".
To pick up the subtle peachy colors found in the paintbrush jasper pendant, salmon pink sponge coral coins were chosen. As you can see in the photos, the coral coins show the natural pitting that is found in coral. But even more remarkable, the daisy flower-like polyps are easily seen.  Each sponge coral coin is separated from other elements of the necklace by 2 mm sterling silver beads. Please note - the sponge coral has been dyed to achieve the cheerful color. To add a sparkle to the necklace, faceted "smoky quartz" Swarovski crystal bicones were used, a perfect match to the darker lines in the pendant. To finish the necklace, a secure s-clasp with a raised design was chosen. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the one of a kind PERCHANCE TO DREAM necklace is a perfect gift for the woman who loves earthy jewelry with a tale to tell!

Paintbrush Jasper is believed to be a healing stone that promotes strength, energy and new ideas. Sponge Coral is said to help the wearer understand and value all life on Earth. Even though man-made, glass (crystal) carries the energies of transformation, rebirth and communication. Silver is a metal of love and healing; it is a mirror to the soul, helping us to see ourselves as others see us.

The PERCHANCE TO DREAM gemstone necklace will come with two informational drop tags: one with the piece's name; the other lists the materials used in the necklace and the language of the stones and metals. It will be carefully packed in an organza jewelry bag, perfect for gift giving to a loved one . . . or to yourself!
***Please be aware that not all computer monitors show colors exactly the same. The colors of the stones are extremely close to the actual color on my monitor. They may appear lighter or darker on yours.
