A powerful symbol of faith, identity, unity and motherhood, especially for believers in Mexico and the Southwest, the OUR LADY handmade necklace features a rustic Our Lady of Guadalupe / La Virgen de Guadalupe terracotta pendant, turquoise magnetite, mussel shell and copper. Resembling a religious talisman that has been worn for generations, the pendant was artisan made from kiln fired terracotta ceramic clay. The image of Our Lady of Gauadalupe is found in the center of the shield shaped pendant with dots all along the edges. Adding a weathered look, a glossy off-white glaze was applied which settled in the recessed areas leaving the raised areas of the terracotta to show through. The back of the pendant is unglazed and can be used as an aromatherapy diffuser - dab a drop or two of essential oil onto the back and the scent will be released for hours.

Turquoise magnesite gemstones and mussel shell heishe perfectly highlight the pendant. Adding wonderful Southwest flair are permanently dyed turquoise magnesite tubes with wonderful brown matrix. Between sets of the turquoise magnesite and copper beads are mussel shell heishe in groups of three - they are similar in size and shape but also somewhat different. A solid copper toggle clasp set securely finishes the unique necklace.
