Perfect jewelry for the woman who loves the gemtle dignity of elephants, the one of a kind TEMBO handmade earrings feature amazing pewter elephant head charms. Perfectly complementing the elephant head charms are Indonesian fossil jasper faceted tubes, red coral and sterling silver. The elephant heads were artisan designed and individually hand cast from lead free pewter. The pewter is a perfect gray color to represent the skin of the elephants, patinated and then polished to bring out the details. And, as you can see from the photos, the details are amazing: eyes, a slightly curved trunk and foreheads and ears that are slightly raised from the background for a 3-D texture. The back of each charm is smooth and has the maker's mark.

Above the elephant heads are Indonesian fossil jasper and red coral separated by sterling silver discs. The fossil jasper tubes are a pale greyish-white color with bits of darker fossil speckles, one with a brown spot on the back. The beads are a prism cut with 12 facets for plenty of sparkle. Above each jasper tube is a hand cut coral bead in a rich red, adding a pop of color to the design. Since the beads were hand cut, they are not 100% round, as you can see in a few photos. Sterling silver French hook earwires finish the wonderful earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the TEMBO earrings were created for the woman who adores elephants and loves to wear one of a kind artisan jewelry! “Tembo” is Swahili for “elephant.”
