What a perfect handmade jewelry gift for the woman who adores cacti and succulents! The one of a kind OPUNTIA earrings feature unique artisan enamel prickly pear cactus charms, glowing Czech glass beads and sterling silver. The captivating copper enamel rounds were individually handmade and have a definite Southwest vibe. Outlined in black, eye-catching green cactus with red cactus apple fruit are highlighted against a white background. Since the enameling was done entirely by hand, the mirror image cactus are very similar in design but also a bit different. The back of the charms are enameled in jet black. ***Please note: Even though the enamel charms are very durable, they are glass fused to copper. If an earring is dropped on a hard surface, the glass can chip or crack.
To highlight the red cactus apples and add some unexpected sparkle, faceted Czech glass cathedral beads are found above each charm. The glass beads were created from red and clear glass with a silver Picasso finish at each end. Since the glass beads are translucent, they glow beautifully when the earrings are worn. Two sizes of round sterling silver beads are stacked above each Czech bead. Sterling silver French hook earwires finish the wonderful earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the one of a kind OPUNTIA earrings were created for the woman who loves cactus jewelry with a boho Southwest look! “Opuntia” is the genus name for prickly pear cacti.
