The one of a kind HEARTS OF THE NIGHT SKY handmade earrings are definitely eye-catching with all their unique beauty. Jewelry that can be worn all year long - not just for Valentine’s Day - the long earrings feature artisan enamel heart dangles, faceted blue Czech glass beads, copper and sterling silver. Starting out as heart-shaped copper blanks, the dangles were carefully layered with glass powders in various hues of dark blue that were fused at high heat. Silvery glass frit was added to represent stars in the sky. The back of the hearts are professionally finished with shiny black enamel. The hearts hang at an angle when worn, adding extra eye appeal. Since the hearts were individually artisan made, they are similar but also different, especially with the placement of the stars. ***Please note: even though the enamel charms are very durable, they are glass fused to copper; if a charm is dropped on a hard surface, the glass can crack or or chip.
To add sparkle to the earrings design and to perfectly highlight the colors of the hearts, a faceted, medium blue round Czech glass bead was used. The blue glass is translucent adding a wonderful glow when the earrings are worn. Above each blue glass bead is a small copper daisy spacer and a corrugated copper bead. A corrugated copper bead was added to each sterling silver French hook earwire for more copper goodness. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the HEARTS OF THE NIGHT SKY earrings are a unique gift for Valentine’s Day, a jewelry gift that can be worn year long!
