TRANSFORMATION is a perfect name for this handmade butterfly pendant necklace . . . and also a perfect gift for a loved one who appreciates the metaphoric meaning of butterflies and their transformation through the cycle of life. One of a kind jewelry, the handmade necklace features a Thai Hill Tribes fine silver butterfly pendant, hurricane glass beads, faceted sky blue glass beads and sterling silver. The glowing stamped pendant was created by a Karen Hill Tribe artisan high in the mountains of Thailand from fine silver, a silver that is 95% - 99% pure silver (sterling silver is 92.5% pure). A butterfly with spread wings is centered in the rectangular picture pendant. A flower is above the butterfly and the edges are decorated with dots and arcs. The backside of the pendant is somewhat textured due to the stamping on the front side.

Adding subtle color to the butterfly necklace design are multi-colored hurricane glass beads and faceted sky blue glass beads, all from the Czech Republic. Hurricane glass is typically made with two or more colors of swirled glass in each bead. These oval beads are mainly shades of blue but also have red, green and clear glass added to the mix. Small, faceted sky blue glass beads are scattered through the design, separated by small sterling beads. A small sterling silver toggle clasp set securely fastens the one of a kind necklace. Jewelry carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the TRANSFORMATION necklace was created for the woman who loves butterflies and their symbolism.

Butterflies symbolize profound transformation, hope, rebirth, spiritual evolution and embracing new beginnings. Even though man made, glass is said to carry the energies of transformation, rebirth and communication. Silver is a metal of love and healing; it is a mirror to the soul, helping us to see ourselves as others see us.

The TRANSFORMATION necklace was carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio. The necklace will come with two informational drop tags: one with the piece's name; the other lists the materials used in the necklace and the language of the stones and metals.
