Filled with rustic charm, the whimsical CABALLOS RUSTICO handmade earrings are sure to please a horse lover! One of a kind jewelry with a boho vibe, the earrings feature artisan ceramic horse dangles, genuine turquoise, amber and sterling silver. The round horse dangles were individually handmade with dark brown glazed ceramic. To give a purposefully distressed look, a sgraffito method was used: a horse and a heart were hand carved on each, revealing the lighter ceramic beneath. As you can see, the detailing is amazing, the horses with flowing manes and a heart on each body. Since the dangles were individually handmade, they are very similar in design but there are also differences. The back of each charm has a dark glaze.

Continuing with a rustic theme, genuine turquoise and amber were stacked above each dangle. The turquoise is a beautiful green with brown matrix. The amber is real but has been heat treated (as most amber is). Two types of amber were melted together and reformed: a light honey amber along with a darker amber. Sterling silver French hook earwires finish the unique earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the unique CABALLOS RUSTICOS earrings were created for the woman who loves horses and loves wearing one of a kind artisan jewelry! “Caballos rusticos” is Spanish for “rustic horses.”
