The TARTARUGAS handmade earrings are perfect for any woman who adores turtles, both in the water and on land. The one of a kind earrings feature translucent mossy green glass turtle beads, Swarovski crystals, copper and sterling silver. The turtle beads were created in the Czech Republic from premium quality pressed glass. The front of the beads are curved to resemble real turtle shells and have wonderful detailing. To bring out the detailing, a PIcasso finish of barn red and brown was added which settled into the recessed areas. The back side of the turtles is flat. The turtles were tightly wire wrapped and glued so they always face front. Since the mossy green glass is translucent, the turtles glow when the earrings are worn.

To add great sparkle to the design, two faceted olivine green Swarovski crystals bicones were stacked above the turtles separated by a small copper bead. Sterling silver French hook earwires with copper bead accents finish the earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the unique TARTARUGAS earrings were created for the woman who adores turtles and loves one of a kind artisan jewelry! “Tartarugas” is Portuguese for “turtles.”
