Sun Face Earrings, Amber Yellow Lampwork Red Orange Handmade Jewelry for Women

Item Description

The SOLARIS handmade sun earrings definitely radiate cheerful goodness.  How can you not feel happy each and every time you see the Mona Lisa smiles on the sun faces of these artisan made copper dangles?  To continue with the hot sun theme, very shiny artisan created lampwork glass beads in an honey amber yellow color with just a slight hint of orange were used.  Stacked above the lampwork beads are vibrant faceted red Czech glass rondelles and glowing translucent orange Czech glass beads.  A perfect jewelry gift idea for the woman who loves one of a kind jewelry, the SOLARIS sun face earrings were carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs.  “Solaris” is Latin for “of the sun.”

The cheery copper sun charms used in the SOLARIS earrings were created from start to finish by Kristi of Kristi Bowman Design copper metal clay.  After the clay was shaped, molded, imprinted and carved by Kristi, the suns were put in a kiln and fired at high heat.  A very detailed circular sun face is inscribed into the middle of each piece with eight flares radiating out from each face.  There is a great deal of texture to the charms, the sun faces raised from the flares and the background.  Because of their handmade nature, they are very similar but not exactly the same. The sun faces are slightly domed with a fairly smooth back.  The suns were wire wrapped to the upper part of the earrings with copper wire.

To add even more sunniness of the earring design, shiny honey amber yellow lampwork glass were chosen.  The lampwork beads, created by Elizabeth of Elizabeth Beads, are very shiny (you can see my silhouette in most of the photos), and for extra radiance, they have a light metallic aurae finish to them.  For a pop of vibrant color, a scarlet red Czech glass rondelle was added above each lampwork bead.  The ronelles are faceted for subtle sparkle.  A copper daisy spacer separates the lampwork bead from the red glass.  Above the red rondelle is a copper disc spacer capped by a translucent orange Czech glass bead.  The lampwork glass bead and the orange bead glow amazingly when the earrings are worn.  All of the elements used to create the SOLARIS handmade earrings were carefully wire wrapped on copper wire  and connected to sterling silver French hook earwires.with copper bead accents.

As a source of all light and cosmic power, the Sun has been a powerful symbol throughout human history.  It is a symbol of the divine in many cultures, but also represents power, glory, illumination, vitality and a source of life on earth.  Copper is said to allow the wearer to recognize barriers in the path of personal development.  Glass carries the energies of transformation, rebirth and communication.  Silver is a metal of love and healing; it is a mirror to the soul, helping us to see ourselves as others see us.

The SOLARIS artisan earrings were carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio. They will be carefully packed in an organza jewelry bag with tissue, perfect for gift giving to a loved one . . . or to yourself!
