Rustic Wings Boho Earrings, Turquoise Copper Teal Red Handmade Jewelry

Filled with the ancient vibes and rich colors of the Desert Southwest, the one of a kind TAOS TRAIL handmade earrings are a wonderful gift for the woman who has a jaunty boho style. The richly colored earrings feature two-sided rustic wing dangles, faceted teal Czech glass Saturn beads, faceted ruby red Czech glass rondelles, copper and sterling silver. The organic wing dangles were individually artisan hand formed (in Taos) from lightweight white stoneware clay. Once the wings were air dried, they were hand painted with shades of turquoise with metallic copper highlights for an ancient patinated feel. The textured wings were kiln fired several times for strength and durability. The front has a wing design - maybe based on a bee? The back is a totally different design - possibly based on beetle wings? Whatever inspired them, the dangles have a wonderfully primitive feel to them. Since the wings were individually hand formed, you will notice that they are similar in design but not exactly the same. An added bonus is that the earrings are very lightweight to wear.
To perfectly complement the shades of turquoise of the rustic wings, teal blue-green Czech glass beads in a Satun shape were added just above the dangles. The Saturn beads are a mix of teal blue and teal green glass with a silvery metallic wash. To add subtle sparkle, the raised center of each bead has crisp fire polished facets. For a pop of unexpected color, a faceted Czech glass rondelle in a rich ruby red was added above the Saturn beads, separated by a copper disc spacer. Since the teal Saturn beads and the ruby red rondelles were made from translucent glass, they glow beautifully when the earrings are worn. Sterling silver French hooks with copper bicone bead accents finish the wonderful earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the unique TAOS TRAIL earrings will be enjoyed and worn often by the woman who adores one of a kind, artisan boho jewelry!
