Not All Who Wander Are Lost Handmade Necklace, Tolkien Brown Agate Spirals Gemstone Jewelry
Inspired by a poem in J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic Lord of the Rings trilogy, the NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST handmade necklace is perfect for the woman who has a huge case of wanderlust and loves boho designs. An artisan created pendant, brown agate and copper spirals come together to create a meaningful piece of jewelry. The rustic pendant with Tolkien’s saying was hand formed from light beige ceramic clay. After the letters and the spiral were individually imprinted into the clay, it was painted in a rusty red brown and dark brown. To add subtle sheen, a glaze was applied on to front and back, except where the saying and the spiral are, which was left matte. The pendant as then high fired twice in a kiln for strength and durability. The pendant was connected to the main body of the necklace by two copper jump rings for extra security.
To perfectly highlight the ceramic pendant, brown agate was used. Eve though it is called brown agate, you can see from the photos that the color of the gemstones run the gamut from dark brown to white. Lavenders, mustard yellow and shades of pink and gray can also be found along with mystical looking translucency. Three copper spirals on each side of the handmade necklace add great interest to the design by mimicking the spiral on the pendant and adding a copper glow. A lovely copper toggle clasp set with a rope design on the ends of the bar finishes the necklace. Created for the woman who adores one of a kind jewelry and loves to travel, the NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST artisan necklace was carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs.

Spirals, through the eons, have been associated with the cycles of time, the seasons, the cycle of birth, growth, death, and then rebirth. Brown Agate is used to help ease stressful situations, protects against danger and promotes strength and healing. Copper is said to allow the wearer to recognize barriers in the path of personal development.
