Kokopelli Earrings, Red Coral Turquoise Southwest Handmade Jewelry

Item Description

Filled with unique harmonies of the Southwest, the joyful Kokopelli FLUTE PLAYER earrings are so much fun and very stylish!  Perfect handmade jewelry for the woman who adores ancient Native American symbolism, the one of a kind earrings feature rustic long Kokopelli teardrop charms, rich red coral rounds and frosted turquoise glass beads.  The Kokopelli dangles were artisan made on the Greek island of Mykonos from a lead-free base metal that was thickly coated with copper.  The mirror-image outline of the Kokopelli design is etched into the background leaving the main body raised, providing a wonderful texture to the charms.  To add a rustic look, the brass charms were darkened, given a heavy turquoise blue green patina and then buffed to bring out the lovely details and add a lovely copper sheen.  The slightly curved teardrops are smooth on the back and also patinated.
To perfectly highlight the Kokopelli charms and to add even more of a Southwest vibe, red coral rounds and frosted turquoise Czech glass rondelles were stacked above the dangles.  The coral rounds are a vibrant, rich red adding a wonderful pop of accent color.  Between the red coral, separated by shiny copper disc spacers is a lovely, translucent turquoise / teal Czech glass rondelle.  Since the rondelles have a sea glass matte finish, they positively glow when the earrings are worn.  Sterling silver French hook earwires with copper bead accents finish the unique earrings.  Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the FLUTE PLAYER earrings will make a meaningful jewelry gift for the woman who loves the Desert Southwest and the symbolism of the unique symbolism of Kokopelli.

Kokopeli has been a part of the rituals of marriage, fertility and birth of the Pueblo Peoples of the Southwest since about 750 AD; Kokopelli also represents joy and happiness.  Red Coral is used to help calm life, to restore harmony in the event of an emotional conflict.  Even though man made, glass carries the energies of transformation, rebirth and communication.  Copper is said to allow the wearer to recognize barriers in the path of personal development.  Silver is a metal of love and healing; it is a mirror to the soul, helping us to see ourselves as others see us.

The FLUTE PLAYER handmade earrings were carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio. They will be carefully packed in an organza jewelry bag with tissue, perfect for gift giving to a loved one . . . or to yourself!
