Horse Necklace, Rustic Petroglyph Red Creek Jasper Handmade Jewelry

Item Description

The one of a kind PAINTED PONY handmade horse necklace is filled with both ancient vibes and modern style, perfect jewelry for the woman who loves horses and the Desert Southwest.  The one of a kind necklace features earthy red creek jasper rounds and copper Bali-style tube beads which perfectly spotlight an eye-catching, rustic horse pendant.  The hand formed, artisan ceramic pendant has an aged, distressed look with a tribal, petroglyph-inspired horse design.  In addition to the horse (a symbol of strength and vitality), other Native American symbols are found, including an arrow (swiftness); a spiral healing hand symbol (strength, healing and protection) and dots (dark ones representing night, light ones representing day).  Kiln fired at extremely high what for durability, the background of the pendant was glazed in a pale yellowish beige which highlights the dark brown glaze of the impressed horse and symbols. A single red creek jasper gemstone dangle with a hammered spiral design hangs from the bottom of the pendant.  The back side of the pendant has a rustic, organic design that was left unglazed to be used as an essential oil diffuser if you like - just add a few drops of an essential oil onto the unglazed back side and the scent will linger for hours / days.  A heavy duty copper jump ring securely fastens the pedant to the main body of the necklace.
To add earthy beauty representing the hues of the canyons and mesas of the Desert Southwest, red creek jasper gemstone rounds and glowing copper were used.  As you can see, red creek jasper is gorgeously colorful with various shades of rusty reds, soft grays, mustard yellows and off-white, some gemstone rounds having one or more colors.  Two sizes of red creek jasper are used, the larger size in groups of three, the smaller size on each side of the Bali-style copper tubes.  The copper tubes have a traditional curved rope design in the middle.  They have been given a patina and then polished to bring out the raised design.  A sleek copper toggle clasp set with a rope design on each end of the bar finishes the necklace securely.  Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the PAINTED PONY handmade horse necklace is perfect for the horse lover and the woman who adores wearing one of a kind, artisan jewelry.

Horses have long been a symbol of power to most cultures and are believed to symbolize strength and vitality and the ability to overcome obstacles in life to pursue goals no matter what may stand in the way.  Red Creek Jasper is said to be a stone of protection and grounding and helps give the wearer the courage to speak out for things they believe in.  Copper is said to allow the wearer to recognize barriers in the path of personal development.

The one of a kind PAINTED PONY horse necklace was carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio.  The necklace will come with two informational drop tags: one with the piece's name; the other lists the materials used in the necklace and the language of the stones and metals. It will be carefully packed in an organza jewelry bag, perfect for gift giving to a loved one . . . or to yourself!
