Reminiscent of exquisite yellow Ethiopian opals, the one of a kind GOLDEN OPAL handmade earrings are beauties to wear every day, perfect for dress up or dress down! They feature glowing artisan lampwork glass nuggets, real Sleeping Beauty turquoise, copper and sterling silver. The lampwork glass beads were individually made with a core of honey colored glass. Then rich peachy gold and sunny yellow foil was added to create a breathtaking glow. Everything was encased with swirls of transparent glass and a pale yellow opal glass to allow the light to hit the foil. The lampwork beads look like they have their own power source! As the angle of the light changes, so does the shimmer of the foil. To add even more eye appeal, the lampwork beads are a rounded nugget shape. Since the beads were individually artisan made, they are similar but not exactly the same, especially as one bead shows more yellow foil than the other. Two daisy-shaped copper spacers cap the top and bottom of each lampwork bead.
To add a pop of gorgeous blue color to the earrings design, a real Sleeping Beauty turquoise rondelle sits above each lampwork bead. Sleeping Beauty turquoise, an American turquoise, is a much sought after gemstone due to its sky blue color with little to no matrix. Sterling silver French hook earwires with copper bead accents finish the beautiful earrings, Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the unique GOLDEN OPAL lampwork earrings were created for the woman who appreciates one of a kind, artisan made jewelry, earrings that no one else has!
