The whimsical FROLICKING RABBIT pendant necklace is a wonderful gift for the woman who loves figurative jewelry! A pewter rabbit pendanrt is the highlight of the one of a kind necklace, along with gorgeous blue Peruvian opals, frosted quartz and sterling silver. Artisan hand cast in premium lead free pewter, the pendant features a dynamic rabbit on the run. To add even more symbolism, the hare’s body encompasses two spirals. Tree branches are found at the top of the pendant along with stylized falling leaves. The design is raised from the background for wonderful texture. Lightly oxidized to bring out the details, the pendant was then polished. *** Please note: the pendant is much shinier in real life than the photos can ever hope to show.
Blue Peruvian opals were used to perfectly represent a gorgeous sky. The national gemstone of Peru, blue opals are fairly rare and are only found in the Andes Mountains. Since they are one of many "common" opals, they lack the color play of the better known fire opals. Eight graduated in size blue opals are found on each side of the necklace, the longest in front and the smallest at the back. The groupings are separated by sterling silver beads and glowing frosted clear quartz. Groups of three frosted quartz rounds finish the back of the necklace. Securely fastening the necklace is a sleek sterling silver toggle clasp.
