The one of a kind necklace features an exquisite chiastolite pendant complemented with black jasper and sterling silver. Chiastolite (also called cross stone) is a rare variety of andalusite, famous for its distinctive black cross design only seen when the gemstone is sliced. Long prized by Chrisistans as a natural talisman, it was / is often carried on pilgrimages and in pockets. The natural black cross, very similar in design to the famous Templar cross, stands out beautifully against a rich brown background. The teardrop shaped cross stone pendant is translucent and glows brilliantly when held up to the light. Since the cross design is on both sides, you can decide which side is your favorite to wear in front. A heavy duty sterling silver jump ring connects the chiastolite pendant to the main body of the necklace.
To perfectly highlight the black cross design of the chiastolite pendant, two sizes of high sheen black onyx gemstone rounds were used. The smaller stones and sterling silver beads are used at the front of the necklace to separate three sets of three jasper rounds (to represent the Holy Trinity). Small sterling silver beads separate groups of three through the rest of the necklace, except the last set which is five. A sleek sterling silver toggle clasp set finishes the unique necklace.
