The one of a kind gemstone earrings feature spike shaped chevron amethyst dangles, frosted lavender lampwork beads, red garnet and sterling silver. Chevron amethyst (also called dog tooth amethyst) is formed when veins of amethyst and quartz fuse together under high heat and pressure. Cut into a spike or dagger shape, the beautiful chevron amethyst used in the earrings are a flowing combination of medium to light plum purple and white with bits of brownish druzy thrown in for good measure. As you can see in the photos, the patterns of purple and white are different on each side of the dagger. The highly polished spikes are slightly rounded on the front and flat on the back.hey are translucent so glow when the earrings are worn. Since the chevron amethyst daggers are two sided, the earrings look wonderful from any angle.
Stacked above each chevron amethyst dagger is a lavender lampwork bead and red garnet gemstone rounds, separated by a sterling silver daisy spacer. The lampwork beds were individually artisan handmade from light lavender glass with a frosted finish. The almandine garnet above is a rich red with just a hint of purple. Since both the lavender lampwork beads and red garnet are translucent, they glow amazingly when the earrings catch the light. Sterling silver French hook earwires finish the beauties.
