Colorfully reminiscent of the desert after a soaking monsoon rain, the one of a kind DESERT FLORA handmade earrings are a unique, lightweight jewelry gift! The earrings feature artisan made wooden dangles, artisan lampwork glass beads and Czech glass beads. The wooden dangles were individually laser engraved and the design was hand painted: a green saguaro cactus with three multi-colored flowers. To make the design pop, the background and edges were stained a medium brown and then sealed with a glossy polyacrylic sealant to offer protection for everyday wear. The back side was left the natural light color of the wood. *** Please note: the artist who made the dangles recommends that the earrings not be worn when showering or swimming.

Highlighting the colors of the saguaro cactus and flower beautifully are three types of glass beads. Just above the dangles are artisan made speckled light pink lampwork glass beads. Since the glass is translucent, the beads glow when the earrings are worn. Above the lampwork beads are two shapes and colors of premium Czech glass beads: coral red discs with a metallic sheen and faceted medium green rounds. Sterling silver French hook earwires finish the one of a kind earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the DESERT FLORA earrings were created for the woman who loves unique artisan jewelry that are lightweight to wear!

The saguaro cactus symbolizes endurance, strength and survival. Through the centuries, flowers have been a symbol of spiritual awakening. Wood is a symbol of stability, strength and being firmly grounded. Even though man made, glass carries the energies of transformation, rebirth and communication. Silver is a metal of love and healing; it is a mirror to the soul, helping us to see ourselves as others see us.

The DESERT FLORA earrings were carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio. They will be carefully packed in an organza jewelry bag with tissue, perfect for gift giving to a loved one . . . or to yourself!
