Kokopelli Flute Earrings, Rustic Turquoise Southwest Handmade Jewelry

Item Description

Representing the unique harmonies of the Southwest, the one of a kind DESERT MUSIC earrings are a perfect jewelry gift for the woman who adores ancient Native American symbolism, especially Kokopelli.  The handmade earrings feature rustic Kokopelli charms, glowing dark aqua Czech glass discs, hand painted ceramic African beads, copper and sterling silver.  The Kokopelli dangles were artisan made on the Greek island of Mykonos from a lead-free base metal thickly coated with copper.  To provide eye catching texture, the dancing, flute playing Kokopelli design is recessed into the background.  To add an aged look, the dangles were given a turquoise patina which settled into the recessed areas bringing out the details of Kokopelli.  As you can see, the flute players are mirror images of each other.  Smooth on the back, the dangles are slightly curved.

Perfectly highlighting the Kokopelli charms are dark aqua Czech glass discs and hand painted African trade beads.  The aqua discs have a silky, matte sea glass finish, and, since they are translucent, glow beautifully when the earrings are worn.  Above each, separated by a copper disc spacer, is an African trade bead, tan with hand painted dark blue stripes.  A copper bicone bead sits on top of each trade bead.  Sterling silver French hook earwires with copper bicone accents finish the unique earrings.  Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog designs, the DESERT MUSIC earrings will make a meaningful jewelry gift for the woman who loves the Desert Southwest and loves to wear one of a kind, artisan earrings!.

Kokopeli has been a part of marriage, fertility and birth rituals of the Pueblo Peoples of the Southwest since about 750 AD; Kokopelli also represents joy and happiness.  Even though man made, glass carries the energies of transformation, rebirth and communication.  Copper is said to allow the wearer to recognize barriers in the path of personal development.  Silver is a metal of love and healing; it is a mirror to the soul, helping us to see ourselves as others see us.

The one of a kind DESERT MUSIC artisan earrings were carefully designed and handmade in a dog friendly, smoke free studio. They will be carefully packed in an organza jewelry bag with tissue, perfect for gift giving to a loved one . . . or to yourself!
